Incorrect Address on a Job.

Incorrect Address

If a job has already been created using the wrong site address, the correct next step depends on the status of the job and whether the correct address can be retrieved through Quotec's address lookup.

The most important thing is not to continue designing or quoting with a job against an incorrect site location.

If the site address is wrong, STOP and correct the issue before purchase engineering!

First Check the Job Status

Before taking any action, confirm whether the job is:

  • still at QUOTED status; or

  • has already been PURCHASED, with engineering issued.

The process is different for each.

If the Job Is Still QUOTED

If the job has not yet been purchased, first check whether the correct site address can be found through Quotec's standard address lookup.

Correct Address Is Available

If the correct address can be retrieved through the normal address search, the existing quoted job should not be manually changed.

Instead, recreate the job using the correct site address.

This ensures the job is created against the correct geographic location and the correct site-specific engineering data is retrieved.

Example

A quote has been created against an incorrect address, and the customer asks for it to be changed to:

61 Kirbys Road, Kalikie QLD 4670

If 61 Kirbys Road can be found through the standard address search, the correct action is to recreate the job using that address.

Quotec Support will not manually change the quoted job simply because the customer has already completed the design.

If the Correct Address Cannot Be Found

Sometimes the correct address is not available through the standard search.

This can occur with:

  • newly established subdivisions;

  • recently created addresses;

  • recently subdivided properties; or

  • locations that have not yet been added to the third-party address data.

If this occurs, first use I can't find address and complete the Manual Address Search process.

If the exact site still cannot be identified, Quotec Support may be able to assist with a manual pin drop.

Manual Pin Drop

A manual pin drop is only available in limited circumstances where:

  1. the job is still QUOTED; and

  2. the correct site cannot be found using either the standard or Manual Address Search.

To request assistance, email support@quotec.com.au and provide:

  • your Job Number;

  • the full correct site address or available property details;

  • the latitude of the proposed building site; and

  • the longitude of the proposed building site.

The latitude and longitude must identify the actual location where the building will be constructed.

Quotec Support will confirm that the site cannot be retrieved through the available address tools before completing a manual pin drop.

If the Job Has Already Been Purchased

If the job has already been purchased and engineering has been issued, the address cannot simply be changed on the existing job.

Engineering certification is issued against the site information associated with the job at the time of purchase.

If the wrong site address was used, you will need to:

  1. create a new job using the correct site address; and

  2. purchase a new engineering certification for that job.

The existing engineering cannot simply be transferred to the new address.

Example

If engineering was purchased for:

11 Willing Street

but the building is actually being constructed at:

9 Willing Street

the existing job cannot simply be edited to 9 Willing Street after engineering has been issued.

A new job must be created using the correct site address, and new engineering must be purchased.

Why Can't Quotec Just Change the Address?

The site address is not simply text shown on the job or engineering documents.

It identifies the geographic site location used to obtain the engineering information associated with the building.

That means changing the address after engineering has already been completed is not the same as correcting a customer name, invoice address or spelling error.

Once engineering has been issued, the certified job remains associated with the original site information.
